Nissan D21
The Nissan D21 is a popular model that has been sold in many regions under various names, such as Navara, Big M, Pathfinder, and Terrano, as well as different body styles like Pickup, Single Cabin, Dual Cabin, and SUV, etc…
However, due to years of updates and revisions, the appearance of the vehicle can vary by region. The D21 is a long-standing model that is still available in Mexico today. Consequently, you might encounter variations where the front of the vehicle is the same but the rear differs.
2 Types of Tail lights
We will focus on a detailed comparison of the two most basic and commonly confused types of tail light assemblies.
America Model(Length:40CM)
OEM: B6650-23G10(RH) / B6555-23G10(LH)
Partslink: NI2801103(RH) /NI2800103(LH)
General Model(Length:36CM)
OEM: B6550-25G60 (RH) / B6555-25G60 (LH)
Comparison Pictures:
From the images, it is evident that there is a significant difference in the length of the top orange lens. The middle red lens appears to be of similar length, but the width of the reflector varies slightly. As for the white lens, there is also a slight difference in the size of the reflector for the reverse light.
Referring to the second image, the American model lights have a distinctive groove below the orange lens, which is the most direct way to tell them. Additionally, the overall thickness of the lens on the side is significantly greater on the American model lights compared to the general model. As for the red lens, the American model lights feature an additional set of side reflectors.
About the back side:
Since they are all black, the back looks very similar, and it’s easy to confuse them if not compared side by side. However, when placed together, you can notice a difference in length by looking at the lamp holders at the top. As for the wiring, the wiring is actually identical, with the same connectors and wiring method.
Measuring the length:
We can clearly see that the length of the American model is about 40 cm, while the general model is about 36 cm. Therefore, if you buy the wrong one, no matter how you try to modify it, it won’t fit on the car.
In addition to the difference in the length of the lights, the upper and lower brackets on the back are also slightly different. At first glance, this may not be noticeable, but when you check them closer, you will find out the position of the mounting holes is different. Special attention is required during installation.
These tail lights are very easy to find on the market, but it’s easy to buy the wrong one if you’re not careful. Not only will this result in longer waiting times, but it can also cause inconvenience for the seller. In this article, we clearly highlight the differences between the two sets of taillights, and also remind buyers to double-check before placing an order.
